Oh, the Places You’ll Go! – It is true, I never would have imagined at the ripe age of 6 where I would have been at 20, 30 or even now coming up to 36 (Yes, I just gave away my true age). The other week, I was fortunate enough to spend some time with #lilboo’s classmates and read the wonderful Dr. Seuss book, Oh, the Places You’ll Go! for Read Across America Day. While reading the story to them, I was pondering – where will these children go in 10 – 20 – 30 years from now? As I myself began reflecting back running across a playground in Kinder, learning how to read, do math, spell…the list goes on and on…
Fast forward to yesterday morning – Lo and behold, there is this amazing new platform that is all the rage with suburbanites and well everyone for that matter called, Pinterest. Yes, I officially join yesterday so please come join Daddy Bookins on Pinterest. Giving credit where it is due, a friend of mine Becca from the blog Our Crazy Boys and a HUGE Daddy Bookins fan had a Pin from A Sprinkle of This. It is an absolutely incredible idea and one of which I am going to do for #lilboo.
Are you ready?
Pick up a copy of Oh, the Places You’ll Go! and secretly have each teacher sign the book (include something unique about them from that year) from now until the end of their Senior year of school. Then give it to them as a gift for graduation. It’s a simple idea and a pretty unique keepsake. Just imagine the places they’ll go!
Welcome to the YOB Years! Where all you need is a BIG Hug!
